This cafe caught us by a nice surprise! A random visit to Chef Ryo Kitahara’s new cafe for brunch on a fine Sunday has made us their loyal foodie fans! Initial thoughts of brunching at “just-another’cafe”, we ordered the standard items we usually will have for brunch, a special Salmon Omelette and a Gourmet Beef Burger. The only “unusual” order was the Raspberry Hot Choc which was surprisingly yummy!

And the CRAZE started with a surprised bite when Chef Ryo brought us another small plate of his smoked BBQ pork ribs to taste because we DID NOT ORDER IT!

As you can see from Daniel’s facial expression, I think we have said it all. INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS, MELT-IN-YOUR-MOUTH Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs! The meat literally fell off the bones as Daniel’s teeth began to sink into them… the juiciness and delicious flavour were unforgettable! The 2 different sauces – Que You Spicy BBQ and Apple Bourbon – are addictive! The first experience blew our minds, this is NOT JUST ANOTHER CAFE! Since then, we have brought many friends to this amazing cafe, none have not fallen in love with the ribs! Third Wave Cafe specialises in Slow Cooked and Smoked Meats, apart from the Pork Ribs that are made using Southern tradition (dry spices only), we also had Beef Ribs smoked using a special 9 spice dry rub & Hickory Wood, Chicken marinated overnight and smoked using Maple Wood for up to 5 hours, Lamb Shoulder with a proprietary blend of mildly spicy herbs & spices then smoked for 6-8 hours using Hickory Wood and Beef Brisket which meat comes out soft and delicate, smoked for 8-10 hours using Hickory Wood.

2 other MUST-HAVES are the Crunchy Beer Battered Fries, so good that we could sit and eat it ALL DAY LONG, and the overwhelmingly delicious Glazed Mushrooms!

Our latest new try at Third Wave Cafe is their Hazelnut Hot Chocolate – crunchy bits of hazelnut sprinkling into your mouth as you drink, pretty special!
